David Walker is an Information Technology Director and Strategist with expertise in enterprise architecture, federated identity management, cloud computing, network management and security, software development, and telecommunications. David has led statewide and national strategic efforts for the University of California, Internet2, and InCommon, including the creation of UCTrust, UC’s federated identity infrastructure, and the Multi-Context Broker (MCB), middleware for orchestrating among multiple authentication methods in a federated environment.
David is also a musician, playing violin, penny whistle, bodhran, recorder, ocarina, Irish harp, and a smattering of other instruments. He was a long-time member of Blackthorn in Orange County, and he performed and created Ain’t Whistlin’ Dixie, the Internet’s first music album.
